Explaining about Software Testing Life Cycle( STLC ).?

• while conducting a system testing,to conduct a testing on application test engineers can follow SDLC process.
• STLC process in different stages.They are shown below:

2.Test Plan

3.Test analysis

4.Test Design

5.Test Execution

6.Test Closure

1.Test Strategy:

   - STLC starts with test strategy document.it is a organization level document prepared by Test Managers with the help of Project Manager.

   - It is a outlook of the Test document and high-level document.

2.Test Plan:

   - Based on Test Strategy,Test Lead prepare test plan document.it is detailed plan of testing an application.that explains scope,approach,resources,schedules etc.

   - this test plan will be prepared by test lead with the help of project manager.

   - while preparing test plan document,Test lead follow IEEE A 29 format.

3.Test Analysis:

   - In this phase,test engineers will analyse various test requirement documents like BRS, FRS,Use case documents etc..

   - while analysis the requirement documents,if they have any doubts,the doubts recorded into RCN(Requirement Clarification Note) and send to domain expert or business analyst to get the clarification.

4.Test Design:

   - after analysis the document,Senior testers prepare design as a test scenarios and test cases.

   - what to test or one unit test condition is called "Test Scenario's".

   - How to test or condition step by step procedure is called "Test Cases".

   - while prepare scenario's and cases,we can follow below specifications.

              1.Functional specification based test design

              2.Use-case based test design

              3.Non-functional specification based test design

              4.Screen shot based test design.

   - based on the cases,prepare trace-ability metrics.

5.Test Execution:

   - once customer requirements prepared as a test cases,as per release date,taking developed software from developers and start test execution.

   - at this stage,we need to compare executed values equals to actual values or not.To compare this values,every test case execute on application.

   -If any test case is failed,then prepare bug reporting and send to developers.after modify the defects by developers,conduct re-testing on that application.

6.Test Closure:

   - after completion of all required testing on application,Test lead is exist from testing and prepare test summary report.

Summary report means all testing related documents like plans,bugs,scenarios and cases etc..and submit to project manager or client.
